GULF BREEZE FL RETAINER WALL FAILURE with the observation deck sliding down the hill
On this project we met our engineer on site to discover the pilings that support the retainer wall were notched almost into for the tieback rods to support the wall. This is not satisfactory as you could see in the video. Some of the pilings had started to fail and split so we reinforced the wall. At the same time but the vibration I believe some of the existing pilings on the observation deck settled so we had to re-level the observation deck and secure it so it doesn’t sink any further.

On this project, we were going to remove the customers, old Boardwalk and aluminum seawall that was failing. After discussing the project with him, I advised him to increase the elevation of the wall to be able to possibly install a pool in a future and get some of the slope out of the yard, which he was on board with, the transformation of this is amazing!

Felix‘s restaurant Dock remodel job on Pensacola Beach

This is a remodel project on Pensacola Beach for Felix‘s restaurant, formally Hemingway. I believe the stock was probably built 12 years ago had the fiberglass pilings that started to Dell laminate in the sun and was not able to take the large parcel boats running into them you could see they splintered up and start cracking. So we remove them and reinstalled 8 inch and 10 inch timber filings w...

You won’t believe the transformation on this project taking an old wood seawall that was failing that the existing owner had just dumped a bunch of rip wrap over, trying to stop the erosion opposed to fixing it correctly. We removed all of the old concrete old wood walls and installed a new naval style vinyl seawall. This should give them many years of protection against the elements.

Thanks for watching my channel in your comment. Yes, I agree 100%. I like the sprinkler systems to broadcast towards the wall not be right up against the wall. That’s another reason why I install drain systems every 10 feet on the wall. Typically that’s the lowest point of the irrigation system and all the water runs down there when it shuts off.

Got another video on here where the stack in place Pavers, settled around the pool about 3 inches so you’re really gotta be careful when you’re vibrating and Sand. The last of the 300 foot wall that I’m working on now has stacking stone around the pool and I’ll be working about 15 foot away from it so I’m very concerned about this stone as well.

Thanks for your comment and question. Majority of our walls are vinyl and wood at times we do a concrete top cap. We have nothing but sand here so easy to install stuff in the ground. I don’t really care for Concrete; myself because of its ability to soak up salt water causing rebar to expand and crack the concrete. There is fiberglass rebar which cost a lot more money as well. As you may know.

Thanks for your question. I’m watching my channel. There’s a whole Lotta factors to go into replacing a Piling as far as accessibility water, depth, soil, conditions, and size of Piling. Typically most poles go for about $20-$25 a foot labor to install.
